Is Radon Building Up in Your Basement? Test It. Fix It.
Radon is an invisible, odourless radioactive gas that comes up from the ground. The only way to know your level is to test.
- Long-term radon testing guidance
- Sub-slab depressurization (mitigation) systems
- Sealing cracks, sumps and floor openings
- Retest after mitigation to confirm results

Why Homeowners Call Us
Calgary-area homes test high
A University of Calgary study of 2,382 southern Alberta homes found 12.4% at or above Health Canada's 200 Bq/m³ guideline, and every area had some homes above it.¹
Clear guideline to act on
Health Canada recommends corrective action within 1 year if your average level is above 200 Bq/m³ in a lived-in area such as a finished basement.²
Mitigation works
In the same study, 90 mitigated homes dropped from an average of 575 to 32.5 Bq/m³.¹

Who does the work?
Every radon job is handled by a C-NRPP certified radon professional on our staff, backed by the GG Calgary team.
What is a safe radon level?
Health Canada's guideline is 200 Bq/m³. It also notes no level is completely risk-free.²
How do I test?
Health Canada recommends a long-term test of at least 3 months, ideally in fall or winter, in the lowest lived-in level.
Are newer homes safe?
Not necessarily. In the Calgary-area study, homes built in 1992 or later averaged 31.5% higher radon than older homes.¹
